Wow, my life is boring

And I kind of like it that way I guess!

I was able to sleep in a bit this morning, and got some much needed catch-up rest after a visit from the in-laws. Then we did the Sunday morning coffee shop ritual which is always a great thing. I spent the rest of the morning sharpening some blades (hard to explain how rewarding this can seem).

The weather outside was fairly typical for this time of year, but I was starting to realize a couple things around noon time.

1. It was not going to get any warmer or drier outside today than it was at that time.

2. I would really not enjoy riding inside...again.

3. I would really be down on myself later if the best thing I accomplished today was sharpening some knives.

A few minutes later I was on the roll. I did a short solo ride under a dark cloudy sky. The wind was clam, but the air was very moist, and everything was wet. I can not claim that I was uncomfortable out there, but the conditions were not anything I would call pleasant.

I now feel pretty good to report hammering out a little over an hour through some scenery that was far better than the inside of my garage!

Yeah, my life is pretty boring, but when the weather is less than pleasant I prefer my rides to be less than exciting.

Congrats on an un-exciting ride

Knowing it's going to be a cold, damp, and gray ride, and STILL getting on the bike ... that's great. I was faced with a similar choice: ride the stationary bike at the Y or spend the afternoon with my wife walking around the historic shopping area in St. Charles. I made the right choice.
