Does anyone know who these happy people are? With all the people who visit this site every month/week/day, I'm betting one or more of you knows. Probably more than a few.
Want a hint? OK. One of the two people in the photo is an ultra-endurance bicycle racer. Among her many accomplishments is a RAAM finish. I can't imagine even attempting a cross-country bike race, much less finishing one. Now I can say I know someone who actually did one - finish a RAAM.
These two have helped me out tremendously in recent weeks. See, I'm always one to take advantage. I figured out it makes good sense to trust someone with this kind of experience when it comes to bike fit. We talked and talked and talked. They listened. They wanted to argue with me I'm sure. They didn't. These people are amazingly patient.
I'd have given up on me. They stuck with me. Reluctantly I made some adjustments to my road bike. Life on the bike got better almost immediately. The last two days' rides have been as long or longer than nearly all other solo rides this year. And I did them on back-to-back days. Power's been decent, considering the changes in muscle recruitment. More importantly, comfort's improved - particularly so at longer durations.

Figured out who they are yet? No? Then you need another hint: They aren't bike fitters, neither of them. One's an ultra-endurance bike racer and the other has agreed to build me my new road bike.
Yep, you read that right. I found someone who would put up with me long enough to get all those important decisions that go with building a new bike down in writing. Now there's a hint if you ever needed one. Who both builds some of the most amazingly beautiful custom bikes on the planet, and is patient enough to put up with me - to stick with me through the arduous process of helping me realize my bike could (and should) fit me better? Who would generate drawing after drawing after drawing, spending hours of his day helping me to get it right? This guy. That's who.
Figured it out yet? If you know, or if you have a good idea from my description, put it in a comment. If you don't know, don't worry. I'll let on in a few.
OK, one more hint. The photo in my half-brain post last week? Yeah, it's one of theirs.
I thought you were up to something.
Glad to hear you are making progress.
I have to admit I have no idea who that is from the picture, but I have some ideas based on your description.
Figured it out...
Sure, I had some help...but there is a picture on the front page of his website...and he looks about as happy at work as he does in that picture you posted of him (?on vacation?).
I would like to have one of those bikes!
Oh man, I can not believe how amazing that bike is going to be!
Kent and Katie
That's the Eriksens, Kent and Katie. A better choice for a new build cannot be made. Congratulations on making the right decision.
