When your body doesnt want to...

Today we had the second to last MWFTS race. It was at the Four Winds trail at the Lake. I rode this trail with my Jamis last saturday, and had a great day. I then rode it again wednesday, on my SS, and I got worked. Today I could definently feel that SS riding.

For those of you who haven't riden this trail, its a 12 mile loop, with some serious loose rock climbing. For some reason, my body just did not want to climb today. On straights, and down hill, I was flying, but whenever I came up to a hill, I would make it 50 yards and then my HR would shoot sky high. I would have to stop, take a breather, and then walk for a bit. I then could get back on, and almost finish the hill. That is DOB I was refering to. It made me walk quit a bit.

So that made for a nasty long 24 miles of rocky riding. I had a good time, and managed to get 2nd. Flying goat Kyle took first, this kid was taking climbs and making them his b**ch. He beat me by 15 minutes. Ya, that's alot. But I did manage to beat the only person I needed to. It was Nick and I beat him by 10 minutes. That's right, we only had 3 people in our class.

It was a great race though, challenging to the brim. It was by far the hardest course this year. I had fun, and managed to win a new bottle of Heed at the giveaways. Next weekend is the Manhatten race, and it should be better for me. I'm up by 4 points in the season running, and the best Nick can do is tie me. He gave a nice running, and looks like it's all going to come down to next weekend. I have to get at least a 2nd place, if he wins. If he gets a second, he won't be able to beat me in points, so the ball is def. in his court. I don't think that he's too much deep into this season though, but he's ridden good. I'll be glad to get next weekend done with. Then I wont have to be so strick on the training, but I def. can't lax. But then again there's always cross season....
