It was a beautiful day and only two other guys showed up for the ride. We set out for a 30 mile ride but somehow it ended up close to 80, and I never felt like I was pushing hard, but we finished in well under 4 hours (counting the stops).
The wind, it was not harsh, but it was ever present. The last 10 or so miles it was almost entirely at our backs. As you know, that is a great way to finish a ride!
There are some areas around here that seem hidden from modern society...that is where we went. It is so quiet out there that you can hear your heart pumping as you climb the hills (if the wind is just right). You have to be committed to a long ride to get there, but it is usually worth it!

Unfair
You always take me the way that *never* has a tailwind. Totally unfair.
Yeah, I know
Funny how it works out that way most of the time...
Beautiful roads when...
When there are no rednecks on them... love the view but I know the types who drive the roads...
On this particuar day
On this particular day there were only two rednecks on this road (Me and Roger).
Honestly, of all the places I have ridden, these particular roads seem pretty devoid of irrational drivers. Although, some of the other routes I ride seem chock full of motorists that seem unwilling to share "their" roads.
