What I did on my snowy Saturday

Just an easy hour's spin for me today on the rollers.

Being old and slow I don't think it's so important for me to be out on the road all weekend long putting in the hours. Well, not at least when the weather sucks like it did here today. The thermometer stood right on the freezing mark all day, with off and on snow and drizzle. No thanks.

Besides, Unit ripped my legs off in less than 2 hours yesterday afternoon on his way through town. He's been focusing on the road miles and it shows. Hopefully that short spin will leave my legs fresh for something good tomorrow.

Aside from that, I spent a good part of the day launching the Tour de Sainte Genevieve Road Race web site. Todd Parker, the race promoter said he's ready to get the word out. Only its 3rd year and he's landed it as the state championship race. Good on ya, Todd. Well done!

Thanks for the ride

I sure am glad we got out for that ride. When the weather is nice like that you have got to ride...it is not an option.

I do not recall turning the screws, but I do recall *you* taking some monster pulls...Just the same, thanks for the kind words. I wish I could spend every day in January riding with short sleeves outside like that.

Friday was amazing! I had to take off work to go ride in the warm sun. We don't get days like that in January, the only slight problem, and I mean slight, was the wind. I will take a 65 degree day in January, even if it comes with winds from 15-20 mph.

I switched from the business suit, to the riding suit at work and lubed the Jake's chain to hit the road. If it's windy I take it straight into the wind for a little over half my total ride time, and then turn around to ride the wave back home. I rode from Sedalia, down to Cole Camp and back. I rode solo, and burned alot of matches. It felt good to go out and get shelled on such a beautiful day. Todays pretty nice too, I'm thinking something real easy and full of gravel... Sounds like you all had a good ride too!
