That was a lot easier than an FTP test

Well that was fun. I wasn't really sure what I'd do for a ride today. Then I saw Boz's plansBoz's plans for some easy flat loops. A bit of texting and just like that, my plans were set.

We caught it just about right too. We caught the crossover window when the temperature climbed from chilly to cool (nice) causing the snow to go into full-on melt mode (dirty backside and bike). So while we got just a little wet, at least we were warm. And the bright sunshine made up for the brisk wind. On balance I'd call it the best part of the day.

No FTP test this time. My legs never did come around to threshold level work into the wind like I thought they would. They had no problem whatsoever with Active Recover level "work" with the wind though.

Yes I definitely enjoyed the easy pedaling more than the hard stuff. And yes, there was some hard stuff. Boz mounted up a beautiful Lemond SingleSpeed road bike and nearly tore the cranks, and my legs, off into the wind.

Stay tuned. I'm sure we'll all hear a tale about Boz's lost fitness. I'm just sayin'... Don't believe everything you read.
