I decided today to start commuting again, at least once in a while. Anyway, for some reason on my way home from work, I decided to join up with a local club ride that many of my good friends frequent. Many of these friends I don't see very much anymore because this year I have not ridden on the road much for various reasons.
So, I found myself riding with this group of roadies feeling silly on my single speed MTB. I was telling of my plans to put my road bike back to use and joining up with them more often, and trying my best to keep up. I honestly have no idea why I decided to join the group today...I have not ridden with them much this year at all.
I have really enjoyed some of the interesting sights and experiences I have had riding over the years. I have seen a lot of things. Today I experienced something that I will never forget.
I say this is "the longest ride" for a couple reasons. First, because I will never forget it and the friends that were along on the ride, and second because one friend never finished the ride. He will be missed.
The reason for the post? Not sure (honestly my head is pretty jacked up with thoughts right now). I guess just to remind people to do what you like, and make the most of this life while you have it.
