
I pulled out the road bike yesterday for a little ride. I knew that I needed a workout, but my body wanted to hit the couch. I always feel better when I do not succumb to the couch....
I headed out for the typical 20 mile loop that I frequent when I choose the road. It has a few climbs (some hit 16% grade), but most of it is rolling hills. The traffic is always light (the main reason I ride this loop often). Yesterday, the wind was blowing pretty hard, but since it is a closed loop, it is only a head wind part of the time....although the cross winds seemed harder to ride in than the head winds.
I decided that since I have not been riding much this week that I would put the hurt on, and push it...even if it was only 20 miles.
Finished up the ride feeling superior! Just what I needed. Later I hit the bed and the lights were out before 10. You know that I must be old when I am bragging about getting to sleep BEFORE 10 on a Saturday night...
