Old Friends.
I figured that the trails would be less than stellar today, so I headed out to the club (road) ride again. Today, the schedule was to meet at Red Wheel Bike Shop at 9 and roll out with the crew.
I rode to the ride early and met up with a bunch of riders that I used to see daily, but I have not seen many of them in a few years (during my MTB hiatus from the road). I have really missed some of these people...I have not been a very good friend I guess.
It was really a great time to see the guys, and a bunch of new faces. The road scene here seems to be blooming nicely.
After about 3 hours of yapping and spinning with these guys (new friends and old), the ride ended, but my desire to ride sure hasn't.
Today the riding was great. I looked several times, but never could find a cloud. The wind was gentle and just enough to keep things from getting hot. I have not had such a good time on my road bike in a long time...might have to do this a little more.

and so the pendulum swings back toward center (yet again).
Remains to be seen whether you put gears back on that Vortex. I'm not making any bets.

but no time soon. We discussed this several times on the ride yesterday. I keep telling people, it is not as crazy as it looks. I bet that 9 out of 10 people on that ride yesterday, could go single and would be surprised at how hard it is not. It is just different...once you figure out how to ride it, it is simple.
