Need to order up some more "Poop" stickers....

With my kids now wanting to ride their bikes all the time in front of the house (the weather is getting nicer when it is not raining), I decided to take on a new challenge, and share more time with them.

I mean, they are learning new exciting things, what better way to share that enthusiasm than to experience it for myself. Riding my big bike around while they wobble about on their little bikes seems less than exhilarating (once they figure it out, my excitement starts to diminish a bit), so I found this little gem.

If you have never tried one, you should...they are MUCH harder to figure out than you might think (at least it was for me). But once you start to figure it out, you rapidly re-gain an understanding of what it is like for your kids to learn to ride.

I need to get a second wheel for this thing I guess (if I am going to post up on TwoWheelBlogs about it), and it is definitely worthy of displaying "Poop". It is the most fun I have had in a while. My kids and I can ride in the same small space, and I seem to get a workout without covering miles of trail...go figure.

No, I am not a pro yet, but I am good enough to have an absolute BLAST! I hope it stops raining enough for me and the boys to ride our cycles tonight!

Can you do wheelies with it

Can you do wheelies with it yet?

Easy!

Wheelies and Endos are easy, *turning* is what is giving me the most difficulty at the moment, but I am learning.

It is a lot of fun to try, and from the sounds I am hearing from onlookers, I must conclude that it is fun to watch too!

sweet uni

Sure....

Columbia has a strong road club, and a fair number of MTBers. I am a bit south (in Jefferson City) and we have a smaller pool of each, but there are some regular rides.

Check these links for some good info:
In Jefferson City:
RedWheel
Once there click on the newsletter link and be added to the list of recipients of the newsletter (it contains a calender of group ride events).

In Columbia there are frequent group road rides, but I am not a good resource...they used to start and finish from here...but I am not sure anymore. You might want to call them and get the info.

The good ole' LBS is always a great place to start...
