Dual Bar TT Set up

Unit's picture

Check out this new position and TT bike set up! In short order this design will be sweeping the nation. Pros everywhere will adopt the Dual Bar set up. It will create quite a stir and UCI will ultimately outlaw it stating that this is not "traditional" configuration and therefore can not be allowed. I can not really take credit for this, it is a small change from the Danny Noonan signature position first debuted in 1980.

This is what I had to do today to take some pressure off my wrists, so that I could train. It worked like a dream in that it allowed me MANY additional hand positions, but the more upright position clashes with the nose-down saddle configuration...ho-hum...hopefully this is temporary.

All told, I was able to put in 105 minutes of tempo effort. The elevated heart rate will hopefully aid in my recovery from my stupid little injury. I figure the more blood that flushes past the site, the faster the bruise will dissipate.

This marks the longest trainer ride I have done this year. It was quite torturous since I moved the trainer to the family room and my kids insisted on watching Inspector Gadget as I rolled. Talk about your riveting performance...Matthew Broderick should be ashamed. For the encore, they spun up the animated Inspector Gadget movie...Wow, I didn't think it could get worse. I can not wait until they become interested in cycling videos.

Sweet setup

Oh man that's one sweet setup.

Think about it. You could actually lay down between those bars if they're wide enough. That would let you get ultimate aero. Either put your arms out in front in the outlawed superman position, or hold 'em back down by your side.

Or you could put one out front and the other back down by your side. That would be the Mighty Mouse position.

OK in all seriousness, it's good that you have found a way to keep training with that gash in your arm. And coming up on 2 hours' worth. Scary stuff.

gotta do watcha gotta do.

The photo really does not do this set up justice. It is truly laughable if you can stand over it and see....but it works, and that is important.

Ideally, I will be getting back to HOPs soon, and in a very ideal world, the trails would be dry.

Vit C (of course)

Taking more vitamin C should help the healing too. Try 10 grams a day. Take 2 or 3 grams every 2 or 3 hours.

Uhh OK...

I hope I can spend some time away from the toilet at that dose...

I blew it, and left all my C at the office, so I only took 1g yesterday. Healing is going REALLY well in spite of that.

I will give your dose a try, I may be forming a titration curve today...

While I have you...do you see any benefit to taking C with food...or without? I usually take my Vits with food, but since C is water soluble (and highly soluble) I wonder if that is important or recommended?
