I am not talking about motors or tires. I just came off the the biggest block of riding I have done in a long time.

It all started about ten days ago when I planned a week-long vacation. The vacation sort of fell apart, but I kept true to most of my riding plans. I will spare you the fine details, but in the past 10 days, I rode single track every day except one, and I made up for that by riding twice the next day (a double lap in the morning, and a lap and a half about 6 hours later in the evening). The whole block culminated at the race yesterday (where I blew up like a left-over sky rocket from the Independence Day festivities).
Today, I feel every one of those rides...Railing the Grotpeter descent, the superman endo/bike toss on Blue Ribbon, the rocks of Water's Edge, countless attempts at the slick-rock switcheroo on Rainbow, and raging the race loops during the race. I have fond memories of almost every mile I clicked off. Some have slipped into the abyss of forgotten rides, but the more painful moments will be etched in my hard drive for some time to come.
I sit here feeling that deep pain associated with great accomplishment (at least on my gage) hoping that my phone rings soon. Today is the day that my new bike should return from paint. Assuming everything went well, I should get a call soon. Hopefully things will go really well, and I will receive a box by the end of the week.
We shall see.....
