Today was a big one.
I started out by riding to the trails on my KM...man that thing feels slow compared to the road bike I have been zipping around on the past few days.
Once I arrived at the trail head, I met up with Cary (Switzerland) and Garet (G-wiz). We rolled out for a great lap of riding bliss. The trails are about 98% perfect...only a few mud holes. Most of the riding is on tacky soil that really lets you lean into the corners.
We completed the first lap in about 1:30 (that is a fair pace for those of you not familiar) when G announced his intentions to do another lap. Cary had plans to do a road ride with his wife, so he was out. My wife OTOH took the kids to the toy store and told me to ride all I wanted...So I had the green light.
We were both draggin' a bit as we finished up, but it was a great ride, and I think we felt great for having done it. I have no idea how fast the second lap was...probably not very fast.
There is an old Kiss song with a line in it something like, "you know your man is working hard, he's worth a deuce". The trails today were the best they have been all year...definitely worth a deuce!
Kudos
Great ride today. Glad you got to tag along and finish the second with me. Not going to lie though, I'm a bit wasted after everything. My leg took a pretty good pounding on the nice little wreck I had. We had an awesome meal at Grandma's though, and it was much need. Great ride today guys!
My back is jacked!
I don't know what happened, but sometime after you left, my back started hurting. I can not turn my head either way without pain. This is not your run-of-the-mill pain either!
I gotta get in to see Lori for some work on my back!
That sucks
I was in quit a bit of pain yesterday too. Today is much better but it sucks your backs out of wack. Who's Lori? I assume a chiropractor? When that happens to me I always go see mine the next day, usually they get me lined out pretty nicely. Hope you get it fixed!
Cary's wife
I am pretty sure this is a sore muscle thing...She is a massage therapist...and is damn good!
Sorry to hear about your back!
Man, that doesn't sound like fun. Hope it loosened up as the day went on. Makes me glad I didn't stick around for the second lap. You guys would have reduced me to total ruin!
It was good to get back on the trail again with you guys. We'll have to hook up for another one.
Definently
Good to know who you are now... We'll definently have to start riding more now that hopefully the weather will start cooperating more.
Tonight was a great recovery ride, a good ol' urban ride with plenty of fun drops and stairs. I really pushed the limits of the rims tonight and they held up. Hope the Singletracks hold up for awhile. As some of you know I like to taco wheels alot. Big ups to these rims for now.... but then theres always tommorow.
