Very little new to report on the Badger Build, but I figure that someone may be wondering if I am still working on a new bike...the answer is yes.
Progress is in that lull that occurs between completion of the frame, and paint application. As you might imagine, most builders build and then farm the build out to be painted (It would be hard to imagine a builder doing both really well...and have time for a life).
I wish I could post some awesome pictures and tell some really interesting stories about my build, but the truth is....there ain't much to say. It is a pretty plain looking bike at the moment, and it is in a box at the painter's shop waiting in line. I talked to Rob at length about some ideas I have. He will share these ideas with the painter. Basically, I gave him some color ideas and some graphics ideas. I am leaning heavily on the creativity of the painter, and Rob's direction to make this thing look amazing.
I am finalizing the components for the build, and it looks like I am using less and less from the old bike all the time. More on that another time.
Things will probably be quiet from me regarding this build until I get back from a mini vacation in early July. The purpose of this vacation is to go back to Kansas to the Badger shop...the new one this time...and build my new bike. I have invited a few people along for a couple rides to celebrate my new ride...and perhaps we will celebrate some other stuff too. Rob (and Josh?) seem(s) interested in going along to show us some of the nicer trails in the area...we might even make a couple days of it!
Good to hear...
you invited me. Ha, just kidding but really WTF? Right when I'll be coming into prime from the injo, and I get left out? Always like to give you some grief. Hope your ready to shit it and get it once I get back on the bike. We're tearing up Binder here in a few weeks. That's my first race back, so you'd better believe I'm gonna need some practicing.
