Typical

I hopped on my bike today to do my typical ride, on the typical loop. I rode my typical pace, and finished in a fairly typical time (just under two hours). My typical training partner (the wind) was along, but was a bit stronger than typical.

What is not at all typical about today was the fact that I could ride outside. I was sure that the forecast would be accurate and we would be inside listening to rain all day.

I guess in the end, this day was not all that typical for me. I got a better than usual workout on the bike, and this morning before the ride, I got a great workout.

My son completed another year of scouting so his leader surprised him (and the other boys) by renting out the climbing room at the Y. We all spent 2 hours this morning bouldering and climbing. Having never done this before, I wanted to give it a shot. It was a lot of fun and going up was easy, but when I rang the bell and looked down from the top....I never realized how high 40 feet felt. It did not seem to bother my son a bit though.

Time to eat!
