So after getting baked out on the road on Monday, I decided to hit the trail last night. I had originally planned to ride Landahl but since work ran a little late I opted to ride in Columbia instead. This would give me more time to ride...

I started out at Rockbridge State Park. There's some pretty nice singletrack out there, along with some awesome caves to explore. If only you could explore the caves with your bikes... Spent about 3 hours hammering it out in the heat box called woods. It was rough for the first few hours, it was almost impossible to breath. I had a good time bombing down some of the crazy fast downhills, and grinding up some of the super rough hills. All in all it was a good ride, but I needed more and after riding everything 2-3 times I began to get bored with it all.

So I headed over to my favorite sandwich joint, Jimmy Johns, for the Beach Club. Man that's a good sandwich...

A few short minutes later and I'm at Rhett's Run, another trail system in Columbia. It was getting close to dark, but I had my light with me so I was looking to get in about 3 laps. This trail is smoking fast, a great place to practice holding your momentum. I love hammering out a few laps here every once in a while, it's a truely diffent trail system, very well put together. So I got through the first two laps, and started out on my third. I had had my light on for a bit and halfway through the third it went half power on me, almost impossible to see. I forgot to get it a full charge, which cut my riding down a bit.

It was all good though, I ended up with about 4 and a half hours of riding all together. Plenty enough for me for the night. I jumped in the Jeep and made the long drive home, only to collapse in bed. I was shot.

I didn't take any pictures but here are some randoms from the past few weeks, plus a video of me cleaning one of the rocky hills out at Landahl. The dog is our newest addition to the house, her names Midgeon. I picked her up from a client who had to get rid of her. Enjoy this brief break from the heat, should be some stellar riding the rest of the week!
