TT Tonight

Tonight's the first in the local series of 15 Wednesday Night Timetrials. To say I'm stoked about it is a major understatement. This series started 2 years ago as a 5 race series. Last year I missed all 8 races. This year I hope to make it out for all 15.

I'm sold on this series for a couple of reasons:

  1. It's the least expensive social event, race, workout, test of fitness in town.
  2. The course is pancake flat, with decent roads, and takes about 20 minutes to do.
  3. The serious ones show up with their A game - full kit, and loaded for bear.
  4. The not-so-serious ones show up, learn, go fast, and have a great time.
  5. They have a Merckx division, so anyone can play.
  6. It's the least expensive social event, race, workout, test of fitness in town.

My main motivation for the series comes from the opportunity to test fitness and equipment. Just like last weekend's Tour of Hermann TT, I plan to keep my effort levels throttled back to around a 40 km effort level so I don't burn out and/or bring on an early peak in my season. These are training races after all.
