I've been in the process of relocating to Dallas and have found myself in quite a challenging environment with the work thing. I have started to finally get in some saddle time.

Currently hanging in SEATAC airport, thinking about my original weekend plans that got changed about mid week. Original plan was to help the local ICCC spoke in Dallas with their TT today, and then roll a road race tomorrow with the spoke director. Great weather in Dallas lately consistent Mid 60s to 70s. been doing some interval work in the evenings after work and looking fwd to the time change. I've also been on a few shop rides and started to feel my legs coming back just a bit. I don't see anything really happening on the bike until later in the year. With work and the hassle of moving the family to Plano, Tx I will have my hands full.

Looking forward to getting my son down here so that I can start working with him again. His goal is to cat up to a 3 this year so that he can make it back to Jr Nats. As a 15 yr old jr he now has to race as a 3 to be able to qualify for jr nats. The hard part is that he has to get points in category graded races but is still required to use jr gears. Maybe the flatter courses down here in Dallas will help him with that....

Till later,

Dennis

Beatiful day in horse country

Got about 2 1/2 hour ride in today. Got in close to 50 miles with a group of about 15 riders. 70 degrees and light winds, and not a cloud in the sky. Ended up riding the last 10 miles solo after having to address a mechanical issue with the bike. the seat post was slipping on me and at one point I felt like I was riding a BMX bike. The added change in the geometry really messed with what little power I have right now, and I figured that I would get dropped eventually any way, especially after spending 5 hours on a plane yesterday coming back from Seattle. So I floated OTB and made about a 2 cm adjustment on the saddle height. After a few miles out the cramps actually subsided and I was able to get a good solo effort in back to the apartment. Once I got home I measured and found out that it was still about 2 cm short!

Still great to be out again even if the knees are a bit sore from the low saddle position. The local Tuesday night crits start up this week down here in Dallas, and should be an interesting experience. Unlike carondolet with the Kidney shaped sweepers and the hill of death in turn 2, this course is more of your classic pedal - brake - pedal course with 3 90 degree turns and one sweeper.
