Day 3 was the shortest of our 3 days here in Nashville. And that's probably a good thing because some were still feeling the effects of the long miles yesterday. We had about 2 to 3 hours, depending on how much we wanted to push checkout time, to get a ride in and get cleaned up and on the road.
It's too bad we only had a short time to ride today. Of the three days, today turned out to be the clear winner, weather wise. Temperatures under sunny skies and light winds topped out in the low 70's before we unclipped back at the hotel.
I'd say our route today was a plan played to perfection. Our route from hotel parking lot to hotel parking lot took us over a couple of Nashville's toughest climbs and through some of its nicest neighborhoods. We hammered for just over 2 hours, covered close to 40 miles, and netted another 170 TSS for the training camp tally.
That brings the 3 days' total to 670 TSS. Needless to say that's an unsustainable CTL ramp rate. In fact that's more TSS in three days than I've done in an entire week since last season ended. If I add it to the TSS from the three other days I rode this week, it's clear I'm way over my TSS budget.
But that's what training camps are all about, right? I think a day or two of recovery might be in order before I resume my regular training schedule.
like a rocket
Looks like you'll be coming out hot this season. You're fitness could make this a super season. I'll let you know what the weekend looks like and perhaps we can get out, if you're looking for recovery miles that is. Glad to hear it was a productive camp.
