Tour of Missouri video

Fast doesn't begin to describe how these guys ride.

The team had a Fan Zone on the corner of Delmar and Devaliviere. On the first lap I set up on the curb just past the corner and aimed my camera back to the corner where I could catch the riders going by.

The amazing thing, to me anyway, is they did this seven times and never once appeared to slow down or get tired. They didn't really even look like they were breathing hard.

looks like...

Looks like a club ride to me....

That is neat that you were in a corner and so close to the action. I think that your video is probably a lot like most pictures of the Grand Canyon...it probably does not do justice to the perception you get when you are actually there...feeling the wind, hearing the billion little sounds unique to that place and time, and smelling the B.O. warm days....although I don't recall a lot of B.O. smell at the Canyon. My point is that it is rare to capture the excitement of a good race on any medium. I bet they were absolutely railing!

I am sure that was a cool experience. I would really love to see some helmet cam video from a rider like you or me as we are overtaken and dropped by that peloton...that would be a neat video.

Yes, not even close

Yeah the video doesn't come anywhere close to what the experience was really like. No question though, on that corner we were as close to the racers as anyone could get. Being that close was darned near scary, as fast as they were moving.

When they went by the fist time even the seasoned bicycle racers there on the sidewalk were ear to ear smiles. All you could hear were expressions of how much more impressive that was than expected. That's what hit home to me the most. We all get to watch and even ride with the Pro/1/2 riders from time to time, but when it's Pro-only it's up on another level even the fast locals appreciate.

It makes me wonder if the regular guy who came out with is family to watch can really appreciate it. Then again, even if they non-cycling fan doesn't appreciate how fast these guys go, it's still an amazing thrill.
