I do not know how else to say it or explain it. After yesterdays ride where my body seemed to experience colder conditions than really existed, I thought it would be a good idea to spin out an easy session on the rollers today.
Normally, I start riding and feel like poo for a few minutes and then start to feel empowered as my legs warm up and loosen. If I have been pushing it in previous days this warm up period might take upwards to 10 minutes.
Today was different. I thought I might die for the first 30 minutes. I had to have my team mate (wife) fetch some carb-rich snacks for me as I spun the drums of my rollers. Somewhere around 40 minutes I actually started to feel like a cyclist and not a rented mule.
All I can guess is that ride yesterday must have burned a few more match sticks than I seemed to notice in the cool air. I have been eating like a goat too. I just can not seem to get enough fuel into my tank. I am not sure what I am acclimating too, but I sure hope I come out stronger in some way!
On an unrelated topic...I am hardly a Lance fan, but it is hard not to appreciated this photo sequence.

Favoritism
Lance wouldn't have pushed his demon doctor out of the way I'm sure.
I think
I think he was trying to pull the needle closer, but the guy tripped.
There is no bad publicity
Doesn't it seem a little odd that there would be a guy with a camera capable of taking these shots in this particular spot at this particular time; and that Lance is riding on the right side of the peloton for this bit of drama to unfold?

May be
I can believe it (either way). I think Lance is so overcooked it is silly, but if I had been at the race I would have filled a 16 gig card with rapid bursts. As ashamed as I am to say it, Lance would be the subject of more than his fair share of my photos.
That said, nothing regarding Lance surprises me. The guy draws more publicity for not failing drug tests that he doesn't even have to take than I care to hear about. It probably has something to do with his "also raced" status not being news worthy.
Oh, and I am so tired of hearing about his bike being stolen...oh but he got it back. The only people that did not hear that story were the same ones that were on the jury for OJ's first trial.
IDK if it was because I reviewed these photos before going to bed last night or what, but I had a goofy dream last night. Lance was re-lacing my wheels with pink nipples just before we were supposed to go on a ride together. I became angry with him for wrenching on my bike, so I punched him in the eye....I shudder to think how this dream may be interpreted by some of you guys.
Uhhhhh
Unit...maybe you do need to workout in the evenings. That's one weird dream.
Word
I agree. You need to get to be earlier. Or later. Or stop eating those habenero and bean burritos before bed.
