They're Real and They're Spectacular

Finally got around to snapping a pic of the cx bikes. The tires and wheels just put together on Saturday (thanks Alex) and all the minor adjustments were made in preparation for Sunday's Bearcat Cross race.

Here's a quick rundown of the parts:

Redline Conquest Team scandium frames - 58cm
Ritchey WCS Carbon forks
Ritchey WCS stem & bars
Salsa gel bar tape
Thomson Masterpiece seatposts
Selle San Marco Zoncolan saddles
SRAM Force shifters, front & rear derailleurs
SRAM 1070 cassettes (12-27)
FSA SL-K 46/38 carbon cranks
Neuvation C50 carbon tubular wheels
Challenge Fango front/Grifo rear tubulars
Nokon black cables

The bikes are identical with the exception of one having the white TRP Euro-X brakes. That bike will be my main race bike, but on Sunday I actually ran the other bike as I was chasing a nasty brake squeal and the black ones were hooking up much better (and much quieter.)

The bikes debuted Sunday at the Bearcat Cross in Hermann. I was lucky enough to make some good choices early in the race and 3 of us got away and then held our positions for the podium. Late in the race, Jonathan Schilling had a bit of bad luck and he swapped Kevin Hamilton for the win, but he held on for second place. I maintained my gap for a 3rd place finish.

Saturday's race (back in Hermann) will be under the lights and some much stiffer competition. Hopefully, I can get another good start and bring home another good result. I do know that Jeff Yielding will set the stage with yet another world class course and treat us like kings and queens.

How do you like those

If the C50's last any where near as long as my clincher Neuvations I'll be happy as a clam. Can't beat the service and support from John Neugent (owner and 1-man-band at Neuvation.)
