Well, here I am at the end of my first decent cycling week of 2008. I have to figure out what to do with myself before the party that starts later. Not sure why we have this party...I think it is something to do with a bunch of commercials periodically interrupted by some bastardized version of rugby (a.k.a. the Super Bowl...can I say that without getting sued for not having explicit written consent?)

So, what is it that I have got to get done before everyone starts showing up?
1. Line up a bunch of parts for a super secret custom build...that is right! next weekend (if things go well) I will be building up a spanking new custom built Single Speed! So I have to get in touch with some of my best friends in the business to get the parts spec. dialed. Details to follow...stay tuned.
2. House cleaning...it happens every Sunday, and it always needs it (I have three little boys trashing the place constantly...what do you expect).
3. Some trainer riding...not feeling up to trashing the soggy trails, and the roads seem less than fun with the thick layer of salt and cinders frequently interrupted with briny puddles...no thanks. I think I might have to crank up some intensity today. I have to give a shout out to Mark at the Cycle Depot...he dialed my shifters in a few weeks back on my road bike...training is fun when your gear works flawlessly!
4. Cook up a mess of grub for the post ride feast...and for the party later on. I won't bother to list it all, but lasagna from scratch will be on the menu...along with something from the grill (slathered in Jamaican Jerk sauce along with many of my home-grown peppers).
I think that is it for now...It is a short list, but considering all the hoopla on the schedule for later, I better use the KISS method and focus on the important things.
I hope no one is reading this...but if you are, turn off the computer and get on your bike!
