Not going to happen outside today folks. I got a much better workout on the rollers anyway. I used all that time normally spent suiting up for the cold and put it to good use as saddle time.
I was turning the screws for a bit over 2 hours (2:13:59 for the sake of accurate statistics). I simply put my hands in the hooks and turned a 50x14 for the whole ride. Call it what you want, I call it dinner preparation. I am firing up the chili pot and gonna put on my eating boots later (Chili dogs)!
I did a little number crunching and backed out a rough estimate of the power I probably sustained for this ride. I am not sure exactly how many calories I roasted, but it probably was not as many as I plan on eating tonight. This little exercise in mathematics shows promise for my riding though. It is a happy feeling to know that I have chiseled away at another benchmark.
I used to think that staying upright on rollers for over an hour was something. Being able to do it while developing some decent watts is a bonus.
I am not trying to brag about this...I am sure some of my readers do this sort of workout before I drink my first cup of coffee in the morning. I just can not help but feel good about finishing a good workout.
Hope everyone else is making the best of things (regardless of the weather). Have a great weekend!
Ride to Eat!
Often times I think I ride just so I can eat. Unfortunately, I don't keep the balance right on anything I do. Riding lets me eat almost anything I want. When I stop riding, I get fat....fast. Great effort putting 2 hours on the drums. That also builds some serious mental strength. Well done.
Thanks man
I like to eat too. I am blessed with some ability to not bulk up too fast though (probably will lose that with age).
Actually, it was not too tough to drum it up for that span...this mount I made for my bike has been modified so I can see the full screen and I can watch movies on my device. This works well as long as I am grinding in a gear and do not have to focus on anything other than staying upright. For intervals I have to switch to music.
