Some Days....

Some days the water just seems a whole lot less deep than I remember...

I refer to the water being deep when I talk about the talent pool in the world of cycling. I realize that my skill level is a veritable "small fish" in the talent pool, but today I felt like a bigger fish than usual. The water is still deep, but I seemed to have a better command of the bike than usual.

I was able to accomplish some feats today that are 10-percenters at best (sections or obstacles that I usually only clean about 10% of the time....or less). It feels great to clean a 10-percenter, but to navigate four of them in a single ride...that is the feeling that keeps me coming back for more.

I snapped a couple pictures of one of the fledgling new jumps. The jumps still need a bit of work and shaping, but you can see from the photos, they are MUCH larger than the humps they replace. This will be a lot of fun once completed. The jump in the photo as it sits is ridable, but has a loose veneer of soil on it and no lip to boot you skyward. That is going to change in the near future! The other jump (not shown) is a bit of a mystery to me (a serious booter with no landing ramp)...I will get in touch with Mark and discuss his plans...I know he is up to something. For now, here are a couple pics of the table top.

Image 1. side view (note the downward sloping profile of the landing area...very forgiving!

Image 2. Front view (looking at the approach with the bike in the same place as last image).
