This week has been a solid week for me. Nothing over the top, just good efforts all around. Unfortunately for me, my sleeping issues have returned. As I've stated before, I don't sleep well or in many cases, enough. I generally start to wake up around 4am and when I'm up, I'm up. Normally, 7-8 hours is about right, but this week I've been lucky to get 4-5 hours of good sleep. It's Thursday and it's catching up with me. Stress + rest = success, so it needs to get figured out. Quickly.
Similar
It sounds like you and I are a lot alike.
This sleep thing is yet another similarity. The only suggestion I have for you is based on my findings...If I increase volume or intensity too fast I will not sleep worth a dang. OTOH, if I do not get some regular workouts in the sweet spot (at the potential of my current level of form/fitness whatever it happens to be at the time) I also will not sleep well.
In summary too much or too little is a recipe for insomnia.
Hope that helps somehow...
Highly overated
Sleep is highly overrated.
OK only kidding, sort of. Someone told me once you only needed the down time and not to actually sleep. What a load of bull that was. Rest helps, but if you're tossing and turning you're not resting.

Ahhhhh.... a good night's sleep
Magic tonic. Unit, you're spot on. Changing the patterns of work, rest, or workouts stresses my body and I don't sleep well as a result. Last night, while I got to bed later than normal, yielded a solid 7 hours of sleep. Maybe that was because I actually ate a little crappy food while at the Blues game, though. No beer, but I did eat a chicken tender and some chips.
Mark, a load of bull is right. Nothing replaces REM sleep. Resting is one thing, sleeping well another.
No beer? Looks like someone
No beer? Looks like someone is getting serious.

Nice catch
You're correct, I'm getting really serious, but the fireworks won't launch for a while.
