I used my last 16gm CO2 cartridge today fixing a double flat. Fortunately the flats weren't mine. They were Jen's. She and her kids and her friend and her kids had driven to the park with bikes and helmets and drinks and snacks. But Jen forgot to check her bike's tires until she unloaded it from her monster SUV at the park. She also forgot to bring anything she might need to inflate her tires.
So I'm grounded until I can snag myself some new cartridges. Me, I won't leave home without them. Particularly now. The red Continental GP 3000 I've been running on the back this year started showing little spots of casing a little while back. The little spots now go pretty much all the way around the tire and they're starting to link up. I wonder how long you can ride on a tire's casing? I don't think I want to find out.
There were a bunch of people out today. Lots of people walking dogs. Lots of people driving around looking for just the right vantage point from which to capture some fall color.

This was it, by the way. I checked. If there was a better spot to snap a shot of fall foliage than this it was pretty well hidden.

This guy was authentic. You know those movies where the engines on the old cars make kind of a rattling sound? That's what he had under the hood. I think everyone who owned one of these old antique vintage cars was out and about today. I think the best one I saw was an old T-bird. Still, I think I'd rather have the orange Ferrari we saw yesterday as we finished up our ride.
