Short and Sweet

Yesterday was very liberating. I spent a grand total of 17 minutes on my bike. The weekend delivered plenty of training stimulus, so a day off seemed to be in order.

Not that I really needed it by any means. In fact I probably could have gone quite a bit longer yesterday. I didn't feel nearly as tired, stiff and sore as I expected I would. Maybe that's fitness returning, but needed or not I had decided to take a rest.

Yesterday's ride had a purpose. The concept behind a short and sweet workout like that is as a transition from one training block to the next. A short workout - basically a warm-up and that's it - helps loosen muscles and promote recover while not increasing training load.

Today I'll be back on the gas. Too bad it looks like rain. It'll very likely be an hour long L3-L4 interval on the trainer. Bread n' butter for building FTP.

Thanks, already knew that. I was goofing on him. I guess it was an inside joke.
