Recovering in the wind

This would have been a major good day to get out on my road bike and hammer into the wind on a nice long flat section of road. The way it was blowing today even a downhill section might have proved hard to ride.

But that wasn't in the plan. Friday and Saturday Unit dragged me all over the trails at Binder. Not having ridden my Karate Monkey much at all lately really took a toll on my legs. Or maybe it was everything but my legs. MTB'ing is such a good whole body workout. I'm not sore all over, but I am certainly tired all over.

I hadn't been on my road bike for a solid week because of last week's business trip. It was good to get out for some needed recovery. Though I'm not certain recovery is really what I got. With the wind howling the way it was today I ended up making more watts than I thought I would. An hour's ride at IF = 0.80 isn't exactly recovery.

Might have to try this recovery thing again tomorrow.
