This doesn't feel much like a Friday. The past several days have left me feeling like the end of a long weekend of racing. So much so that I started off 2009 with a day off.

No doubt it had more to do with the holidays than anything else. I tried to maintain the training as much as possible through the two week holiday season. The first week went well, in that training volume and intensity didn't fall off much.

That second week though... I think we all must have been feeling a bit guilty. TSS numbers reveal the truth.

Previous week: TSS = 645
This week: TSS = 822

Looks like a little post-holiday guilt combined with passable riding weather turned last week into an early winter's mini training camp. TSB hit -39 one day earlier this week. It hasn't been that low in a very long time. Too long.
