We all make some choices once in a while, and perhaps at times we opt for the wrong decision. Just keep in mind that when you do something on a bicycle you are representing, at least in some small way, all cyclists.
Riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road, when that wrong side is the one with no shoulder, when that road is a major highway, when that road is 50 feet away from and parallel to another road with 12 foot shoulders, when it is getting dark, when you have no lights or reflective clothing is likely the wrong decision. Perhaps this person had some very justified reason for riding in this manner, but many motorists on the road failed to see that possibility.
Be safe, and have a good ride.
Don't see the rider? Exactly my point. Here is the same image after photoshopping (zoom and lighten).

Good post, Unit.
I know. I believe most serious cyclists are aware that, to any driver who sees us and how we ride, we represent all cyclists. I try to be a responsible cyclist, being a "good neighbor" on the roads we share with cars -- and hope cars share with us. It bothers me when I see riders ride irresponsibly, ignoring signs, darting across lanes, generally showing no regard for anyone else on the road. Thanks for this point. If expect anyone reading your blog is already a member of the choir your preaching to, but we can all do with a reminder once in a while.
Yes, but you would be surprised
I know I am preaching to the choir, but you may be surprised at the stuff I see during club/group rides. I guess my points of the post are to say "OMG check this out!" and to suggest that we all take a look at ourselves and our friends and strongly suggest doing the right thing.
I recall a group ride where I was repeatedly getting yelled at by motorists and I was yelling back until a senior rider in my group (who I respected dearly) laid into me! At the time I thought, "what a dick!". Now looking back, I appreciate the lesson.
