Yesterday's ride was brutal. I was pretty busy all day and some of my obligations bled over into my ride time. This resulted in my ride starting 15 minutes later than everyone else, so I was trying to catch up.
I maintained communication with the ride leader so I knew the route. I also knew some of the attendees and their abilities (it was a mix of aged racers, and young racers). I hoped some would be traveling at a slower pace and I could simply swing the hammers a bit harder to catch them. After an hour of battling the gusting wind, it became apparent that it was a lost cause...I would never catch up.
No big deal, I got to hammer out a good training ride akin to a 40K ITT. That has got to be good for something?
Oh, and why was I late to the ride? A friend traded cars with me for the day, and I thought it was only right that I patiently wait for him, even though I really did not want to trade back...
Here is one of me asking my boys how badly they want to go to college....

A couple more...
