Yesterday was one of those (typically) rare November days. Most years it would be rare, that is. Jason was taking the day off work and asked me to take leave with him.
Seemed like the thing to do. We met up and rolled out in summer clothing for a little less than a metric yesterday afternoon. Does it get any better?
I was able to collect a little data on the way too. I tried another front wheel from my LBS to test my brake shudder problem. As I presumed the problem did not exist with an alternate wheel. Tally thus far: Shudder exists with wheel A, but not Wheel B, or C. In efforts to make this a double blind, I put Wheel A on Jason's bike and asked him to take a spin. Final result: Wheel A causes bikes to shudder when front brake is applied...Case Closed.
Bittersweet. My "new" wheel that is a superlight build, has a defect in the rim brake track. Problem solved, but it is not the answer I was hoping for. Time to re-build.
