People Get Ready

for the train's a coming. Man, I'm getting pumped. Eating right, training is ramping up, and the Dirt Crits are getting ready to start. While I haven't done much intensity this year, the Dirt Crits will be a sneak peek into this year's cx season fitness. I'm not expecting to dominate any of the dirt stuff, rather just see what level my training has brought me to (vs. last year) and what gaps I need to fill before mid-September.

In preparation for the DC's, I tossed a road cassette on the Mamasita and will most likely toss the rigid fork back on there, albeit I'll likely run it with the squishy fork the first week. One thing is for sure, the races will be explosive, furious, and tougher than any roadie stuff you'll find. I look forward to seeing my dirt buddies again and pinning my first mtb race number of 2009 onto my team kit.

A race or B race? While I most likely belong in the B race, I may need to wait and see where others line up before making that choice. You see, it's all about competing against your buddies, working to rip their legs off (or avoid having yours torn away), and then sharing post-race stories over a cold beverage together. I hear the whistle blowin'....

Do it man. I'll be in there with you. I'll talk Struckman into as well. Then we get to drink beer sooner!
