Our First Video Attempt

And it's not all the hot... This is a very weak attempt at making a sweet urban biking video, but hey, it's our first try. It was also done on a small Sony camera with a video function. I learned alot tonight about video editing and how not to shoot video. I promise the next one will be twice as exciting... Enjoy!

Urban?

I know from following your blog that you are probably somewhere between Columbia and KC... I'm guessing Sedalia or Warnsburg..... So Urban? You should incorporate a more Midwest theme... like doing jumps in a Sonic parking lot. You did have the grain silo in the background (added plus) along with the train siren (bonus!) Every tried cow jumping?

While some may think your moves are weak-sauce, I should point out that you are insane for doing these things while clipped in. Sure your experience base is in XC racing, but in the world of Street or Urban (or even Trials), you would be wise to run flats.

The video is entertaining, and I am sure (no, positive) that future vids will be better. Glad you found the video editor, you will enjoy learning how to better use it. There is a lot of fancy work in making things in videos look closer to the way they feel (novice videos tend to lame-ify everything..do not be discouraged). As another video tip: Keep the clips of failures, those can be most entertaining of all. Failure shows you are humble, human, and most of all we get a chance to laugh at you! Seriously, the most respectable videos I have ever seen show the failures that demonstrate the penalty for mistakes.

As far as your riding goes, I would work on landing with a LOT more rearward bias before you go any bigger (drops to flat). Again flats (pedals) are key, that way if things go bad you can bail and save a few insurance deductibles.

Keep at it, and learn to heal fast! From what I know about you, there are some great things to come!

Sweet sauce

Weak sauce? Yeah may be. But I say sweet sauce. OK, nothing to write home about, stunts wise, but the video work is some good creative stuff. Nice music choice too.

It's put together well.

Now to get 100,000 views on youtube you are going to have to film yourself crashing a few times ..... just trying to help :)
