You know, some days you just have to give'r. If you don't ... Well I don't know what happens if you don't. It's too big a risk to take.
Yesterday's workout was nothing to write home about. You didn't read about it here, right? I'm pretty sure it was another one of those L3 / Tempo affairs. It's been so cold and snowy here all the days and all the training are starting to look a lot alike. That's why I didn't rein it in today when for some reason I just felt like throwing down.
No, it wasn't all that much of a throw-down. Not really. It was 20 minutes of going as hard as I could without actually suffering. I mean, sure, it hurt. Not much, but some. But if you've ever done a hard 20 you know how much suffering they can impart. It wasn't like that.
I don't want anything like that, not for a couple of months at least.
It was just what you'd call a hard 20, and boy did it feel right. Good and right to sweat it up a little, and get a taste of what's down there when it comes time to dig.
Congrats on your Three in a Row
I was going to post this comment to that blog entry, but for some reason "Three in a row" is not accepting comments. Anyway, I just wanted to give you a cheer for getting it done three times in a row. I ride the stationary bike at the Y, but I know setting up a trainer in the basement would be better for me. It's hard to will my way out the door to get to the Y sometimes. I admire anyone who "gets it done."

All I can say to that is "hmmm". I have no idea why comments weren't enabled. A ghost in the machine perhaps?
They're on now.
There's a lot to be said for working out with others. Or maybe better put, among others. Even if nobody around you cares what you're doing the fact of their being nearby helps with motivation. Just my opinion, but I suspect the social aspect is a big percentage of the payoff for those who can't stand working out alone.
If you want to try the trainer thing let me know. I have a spare I can lend out.
