Not quite that hot

OK I said it was hot yesterday. My SRM evidently thought it was too.

I don't know that it was truly that hot, but it was warm.

No wonder the power file wasn't much to write home about. In fact, neither was today's. Lingering effects from yesterday's heat.

And it's supposed to get worse. Tomorrow the temperature is predicted to venture into triple digits. And I'm not talking heat index here. I'm talking actual temperature. As in 102°.

Come to think of it, maybe my SRM was reporting a 140° heat index.

And in case you're wondering, no, I'm not making this up.

Black box

I can tell you from experience about my bar tops (unwrapped bar tops) that are exposed to the sun. I have placed my hands on the tops mid-ride and I would guess that the surface temperature was WELL above 140 (I nearly burn my hands at times).

Your SRM PC is black and hangs out ahead of the bars...I would not be that surprised if it registered some massive temps during that ride.
