I think I was home digesting my aero test data Saturday night when the Naked Bike Ride happened down in the city.
From the local paper:
The riders rolled out of the park about 9 p.m. and were scheduled to end at the Atomic Cowboy in the Grove neighborhood along Manchester Avenue near Vandeventer Avenue.
...
Don Biekert, 50, drove from his home in Centralia, Ill., to watch the spectacle. Was it worth it? Sure was, he said. But "this ain't nothing like Mardi Gras."
Indeed.
I wonder whether the naked bike riders considered the possibility that Saturday night life in little towns out in the sticks is so dry-rot boring that people would drive 100 miles to watch them protest our dependence on oil.
Missing the point
I wonder if the interviewer planned on illustrating the folly of the event when he/she got that quote? Truly brilliant!
I bet there were many spectators on hand that *drove* to the event to witness the protest.
