Wow, I have been absent for a while...did anyone notice?
Truth be known there really is not much going on in my life regarding bikes. That is not to say that there is not a lot going on though! Sparing you the details of a life chock full of training limiters including a wonderful family, a good job, and lots of extra curricular activities related to both, I will just give some brief updates on the cycling component of my life.
Indoor training. Doing a lot of this. It saves time, and gets things done! It also preserves my mood. Variety is the spice of life...two different sets of rollers and a stationary trainer.
Looking into race teams. I am pretty sure I have made my selection. More on that as details emerge. Really not all that exciting, but having some good kit and representing someone that I was recommending/advocating even before I was on the team seems logical.
Core training. Part of indoor training. Are you doing yours? You should be! Riding rollers and trainers does little for your core...it certainly does nothing for bone density.
Took delivery of a power meter. You heard that right...I am going back to training with purpose! At very least, it will be interesting to see test results and compare them to 4 years ago.
Got some new wheels. (New to me at least) These bad boys have lots of spokes and a section that you can *not* call "aero". Hoping these make me a bit stronger...they sure ought to hold up to some winter abuse!
Got an answer to an old question! The brake shudder I was dealing with for the past year...I replaced everything trying to eliminate/reduce the problem. I finally have an answer! A new front rim has me braking as hard as I like with no shudder. Crazy!
Nothing too exciting there, but put it all together and I can not help but get a little amped for next season!
