Just My Luck

Boz's picture

Just as soon as I get a training schedule that calls for 7 hours of off-road riding for this weekend, the weather decides to ruin any real possibility that I can make good on that schedule. What a kick in the sack! I have really been enjoying the time on the mtb, as it's re-energized my training. No offense to the roadies, but slogging endless miles dodging traffic just isn't the same as some good ol' down home cookin' that only the dirt can offer.

I was even hoping to take the cx bike off-road for a little bit this weekend, too. Oh, well. What's the use of having a plan if you can't break it. Let's just hope I get out on the roads and the weather doesn't further relegate me to the trainer. Now that would be a real problem.

Funny stuff

I probably have a blog entry somewhere that is pretty similar to what you mention about enjoying the MTB and not so much love for the road.

I guess I have a one-track mind when it comes to bikes. I either like the pavement or the dirt, but never both in the same season.

If you got the weather I sent your way last night, the trails will be a bit soggy. You could always hit some gravel roads with the CX bike? That sort of abuse ought to toughen you up a bit!

Yeah it looks like we've lost him to the dark side. No worries, he'll be back.

keeps getting darker

Skipped a chance to hammer with the roadies at St. Charles last night to run the s/s at Castlewood. Man, I'm loving that rig right now. About ready to jump to the 34/19 gear so I can work to reel in Kent who's mashing the 36/20 (both of us on 29ers.) I only had one dab the whole night and that cost me a scraped left leg and a golf ball sized knot/bruise at the base of my right shin. On the road I'd likely be road rash central.

I'm the wood sprite whose foot you ran over last night on the Roller Coaster trail. You'll have a few more dabs next time.

The Dark Side

Is filled with singletrack blazin ecstasy, beer, and sweet manly scars to last for years to come. I think it's time you all had a little dark in your life's... Whens the last time the both of you took to the woods? I hear a Castlewood Two Wheel Blogs Group Ride in the distant future... Pick a time, let me know, I'll roll up there with Unit.
