Sorry guys, I've been in limbo with this whole Jamis thing. The new frames weren't coming out in to much of a hurry, and I wasn't in a hurry. I was pretty set on never throwing a leg over a Jamis again, so the new frame was only going to get pawned off anyways. Jamis was and still is a very standup company to deal with. I talked with their warranty guy for some time, and they really do all they can to please the customer. We were both sad to say that Jamis is not the company for me, I've got the curse I guess. Three bikes in less than a year, that's quit a few to many to break if you ask me.
So here's what happend. I knew all's I was going to do is pawn the bike off on the bay or mtbr so I was open to all suggestions. Well turns out Jason Wulff was in the market for a new 29r frame. He had everything else but not the frame. Well Jamis was nice enough to send the frame Jason wanted, in the size he needed. Swweeettt!!! I made what I needed out of it, and I still have everything I need to build up a bad ass SS. So by the end of the week, I'll be swingin the leg over this bad boy...
I've got a pretty good build ready and I think it's going to turn out beautifully. I'll have all the pics and ride reports by Sunday. So there you have it, I'm out of the hole with Jamis. Hopefully the Monkey will be stout enough, and I believe it will be. So if anyone is interested in my 26 inch SS, I'll be selling it. I would like to get 350 or so out of it, but I'd be happy with 300 even. Heres some pics... I've just put on my new lockout this weekend, so this thing has the advatages of a suspension with the luxury of a rigid. Or flip flopped however you see it...
Nice!
I want to get a frame exactly like that KM you are getting. That blue is a great color, and the redesigned frame ought to be an improvement (where improvement was not even necessary). That gusset on the DT/HT junction ought to add some strength, and give more clearance for a pop-lock (both good things to have available).
My KM is a great bike, but I think it would be prudent to replace it with one that is both; not broken, and more my size.
I am excited for you man! I am anxious to take it for a ride too!
