Ughh. I hate the feeling of many things to do and no time to get them all completed. Should I half-a$$ all of them, pick 1 or 2 to focus on, or become a deer in the headlights?
At least the 'happenings' involve time with the family and I'm eating well.
Honest Abe
Said something along the lines of "whatever you do, be a good one". Simply put, prioritize and do what you can the best you can. Family usually comes first but if you have too much family stuff you will likely be happier in the end by making a few moments golden as compared to many halfassed hours of bronze.
Sometimes I feel pressure from myself to make training/cycling higher priority than it should be. That is when I feel like I am drowning.
yeah man
in the end I'm just a weekend warrior. I just wish I could live and be led by that.
Pick 1 or 2 to focus on
Hal-a**ing them all is not an option, so you have to pick and choose -- and that's the hard part. I know well enough what it is to have more on your plate than you can handle. The difference, and it's a good one, is that you care. Some people who have a lot of obligations don't care very much about any of them -- about doing a good job, about not disappointing people, etc. So they do what they feel like to the extent they feel like doing it. But you want to do things right and do them well, and that's why you feel pulled in all these directions. And that's to your credit. So focus, focus, focus on the priorities, and get to the others as you can. (Man, I'm just full of proverbial wisdom this morning.)
Nice smokescreen Boz, but I
Nice smokescreen Boz, but I hear you took a leave of absence from work so you could do 2-a-days, that you flew in Ryan Trebon to be your personal cx coach, and that Scott in collaboration w/ NASA is building you a custom cross bike made from classified materials:) C'mon, you'll rock - use the first few races to dial in your form if need be, its a long season!
it's not about the bike, boz.
it's not about the bike, boz. sure, you can wear spandex all day with shaved legs being "macho" or, you can spend time with your family. you know which is more important.
