My legs are revolting against the rest of me this week. I decided to not fight it and do something different. I pulled out the rollers with the big drums and took some time spinning easy.
A few notes to self, I am going to try drinking a bit more water and up my calories a bit. For some reason my legs are still feeling dead and bloated.
The rollers helped a bit. The large drums provide almost zero resistance, but they do work your handling skills and technique a bit...good stuff for when the power just is not there!
sage advice
You had a really hard effort (and build up) leading to state. Since you're really into a rebuilding stage, treat it as such. Give your gams a little TLC and don't forget the rest of your body. I'm such a big proponent of active rest, particularly being 45. Most people don't do enough of it. Besides, you've more than earned it.
Dirt is Calling!
K: Hello...
D: Yes, is this Ken?
K: Well, ya.
D: My names dirt, you might remember me from your fonder yester years. I'm calling to tell you its time. Mount up soldier, give those sissy bikes a break for awhile, it's time to get dirty!
Dude you so need to give the road up for a bit and go back to your roots of the "real" technical riding. Rollers aint got shit on the creek beds. You know my number, and I'm always down.
As I say this, I'm afraid to admit my first accepatance, or lack thereof, into the roadie lifestyle by completing my first road race next week. It's the Otterville Road Race, and I've got to test out this fancy carbon bike I bought a few weeks back. It's fast...
G
Y' know
That sounds pretty good. When are you in town next?
We should go do a little of both road and dirt.
I did put the wheels on my Badger a few days ago to roll around the hood with the kids. That thing is a monster truck compared to what I have been rolling. That poor bike has been sitting neglected for so long now!
I got a new video camera too, so perhaps we could collect some footage of one of us getting hurt! (you can probably guess which one)
Noooo!
Man we're losing guys over to the dark side! It's an epidemic. First Boz, then Lance, now you.
Wrong
One of these things is not like the other.
One of these references just does not belong.
Can you tell me which one is different?
Why you gotta say something so totally wrong?
