So thought I'd throw in an update. I no longer have the sling on my arm. The Bone doctor had good news Friday, I dont have to have surgery and he told me that I could take off the sling and start the rehabilitation stage. This pretty much consist of normal movements and a few excersises.
He said I will not be able to race for at LEAST another 6 weeks. Looking at the schedule this puts me out of the next three races. Two which are Midwest Fat Tire Races. This really sucks, and I'm alittle worried about what kind of fitness I'll lose over the upcoming weeks.
I can basically do the stationary bike now, and in about 4 weeks should be able to hit the road. My plans as of now:
Ride stationary 4-5 times a week from now until the first week of June, along with leg workouts 3 days per week.
First two weeks of June: Stationary 2 times a week, trainer 2-3 times with intervals, continue leg workout
Last two weeks of June leading into July: Trainer 2 times per week, road at least one or two and hopefully a mtb ride here and there.
My next scheduled race is July 8th, at Binder so at least I'll be familiar with the course. That gives me 7 full weeks from now to recover. Let me know if you all have any tips or suggestions as far as my training plan goes. Wish me luck, its gonna be a hard long 6 weeks... I'll post a pic of the arm hopfully later tonight, Unit I might need your help again...
