First TT bike ride of the spring

I finished out my week today in fine style. A bit over 90 minutes on my TT bike. Just a nice tempo pace most all of the way. There were simply too many people on the roads to do any real focused work on that bike.

The great weather this weekend got everyone out. In just that 90 minutes or so I saw bikes tandems, strollers, rollerblades, skateboards (both the kind with and without handles. Kid still use those?)... If it had wheels people were out in it or on it. Spring arrived this weekend in spirit if nothing else.

At one point in my ride I had a guy on a regular road bike do a 180 ahead of me and pace alongside. He asked if he could ride my wheel for a bit. Gotta respect someone who asks. I said I'd be glad for the company. He replied that he'd hang on as long as he could.

I guess he knew that trying to hang on behind a TT bike = losing proposition. He was back there about 5 minutes or so and then he was gone. I could have waited but I was riding at a fairly low power output already. You have to make a lot more watts to ride at 20+ in the wind on a road bike than you do in an aero position. I give him major props for asking and for taking up the challenge.

Mid 50's at ride time. Not bad with the extra warmth of the sun. A bit cool in the shade. Won't be long before we get a few more degrees in the shade. Then it'll be time for the real work to begin - outdoor intervals and aero testing.

I'm sure no tweaks are needed, so curious if the P3C seems ready for the power your gonna be laying down in a month.

P3C - never a bad ride

I can never complain about how this bike rides. I took her out with wide and slow tires on box section training hoops. Her biggest complaint: The motor's not powerful enough. :)
