Perfect intentions. I carefully planned my afternoon so as to take a lunch break on the bike. I found a cold but not freezing place to set up my bike and suited up. Grabbed my MP3 player to use as a timer and insanity-prevention device.
Screen is black, no response to any input...attempt a manual reset...no dice!
Mount up anyway. I am determined to ride. Once the shorts are on and the shoes are buckled, I gotta follow through. I will do it old school...sitting in a dim cold room with the sounds of my breathing and beating heart barely detectable over the whine of the tires.
I made it about 5 minutes. I see no point in hating something I normally love this early in the year. I will make this up somehow...I have a lot of month left.
I have plans along those lines
That reminds me. I have plans along the lines of how to entertain myself while cranking out those long indoor winter miles.
As you know, my standard setup is iTunes playing through a sat/sub PC speaker system. Now that I have my new media center machine up and running I plan to build a training entertainment center with music and video served over the wireless LAN.
Not that will solve the problem you had with your mp3 player though...
Wow
That sounds very cool and high tech. I somehow doubt that you will make much use of the video capabilities while riding though. I have tried, but it always turns into background noise (don't actually watch).
If you are bolted into the trainer and breezing through some recovery it is another story, but who does that?
