If you live in central Missouri, I need only tell you about the riding today because you already know about how great the weather was for it.
I was apprehensive about meeting up with the group this morning because I was not sure who if anyone would even show up. Much to my surprise there was a large turn out. Among the attendees were a few regulars in my training group.
We rolled out for what would become a fast paced ride (yet another surprise). The ride went on without event (last time we did this route I got hit with a bottle thrown by a redneck in a jacked up truck).
Perhaps the best part of the ride was everyone in my group seemed to not get enough with the planned metric century route. We added on a nice loop that included one of the biggest longest climbs in the area (Halifax road which is several miles of climbing, but starts with a half mile section of 12-15% grade).
I am still champing at the bit for more which is odd. Usually, a ride of this length is adequate to make me tired and ready to take a few hours on the couch...not today. Instead of relaxing we had a birthday party for my oldest son. That was a fun time (9 kids attended).
With any luck we will have similar weather for another round tomorrow!
