The Dirt Whispered

Boz's picture

I'm heading for a long stint on the dark side. The dirt really isn't whispering, rather it's calling me like a parent in search of a lost child. The time has come for some serious cx prep work and I'm getting the focus, as I know many others are too. What's the draw? Don't know. Lovers of the dirt and mud are an odd bunch. We race to tear each other apart but more importantly we look forward to laughing, drinking beers together, cheering on other racers, and spending time together without pretense.

I created today's blog using lyrics from 3 different artists from 3 different songs. See if you can name the artists and songs. 2 of the 3 are quite easy and the 3rd one should be easy to someone I know.

(1)
Lunatic fringe
I know you're out there
You're in hiding
And you hold your meetings
We can hear you coming
We know what you're after
We're wise to you this time
We won't let you kill the laughter.

(2)
Never straight and narrow
I wont keep in time
Tend to burn the arrow
Out of the line

Been inclined to wander
Off the beaten track
Thats where there's thunder
And the wind shouts back

(3)
The lunatic is on the grass.
The lunatic is on the grass.
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs.
Got to keep the loonies on the path.

Matter of fact it's all dark

Judas Priest, Red Rider, do you have Brain Damage or something? The TT was to be the culmination of your CX training. Oh, this changes everything. I'm afraid this just won't do.

And the wind cries (Mary)

The dirt may be whispering, but the wind cries to do battle with you.

Have fun out there on the dirt...and when are you going to post up some photos of those CX bikes you teased us about? This is some sort of record for a cliff hanger (http://www.twowheelblogs.com/cx-bike-teasers)....it has been over a month man!

Shirley you're not serious

Yes, I am and don't call me, Shirley. Mary, I can live with. ;-)

@Mark:
Not doing the TT because the bike just isn't set-up correctly and I neither had the time, nor the interest, to get it where it needed to be. Add into the mix the vacation time and my shifting priorities and you get what's known as a "change of plans."

@Unit:
As far as photos go, you're correct I owe some photos to the cause. The delay can be attributed to the fact that until vacation I had no idea where my camera was. I've found it and will get some photos and post them up. I want to do the photos somewhere other than in my driveway or front yard, so as soon as I find the spot....

Take the photos from the bedroom window. That's the best place from which to view your flyover isn't it? Just put your bike on top and take a few snaps.

What is your vector, Victor?

With all the music being referenced on this site lately, I thought it only fitting to toss in a little Hendrix.

As far as photos go, I would settle for the crappy standby of bikes leaned against the white garage door. Nothing wrong with tradition...plus you do not want some artsy composition trying to upstage your bikes.

Perhaps a build list with some weights in the mean time?
