Horizontal and Vertical adjustment

I thought it was supposed to rain today. What happened? I followed up Saturday's uphill attack-o-rama with a hard Sunday expecting today to be awful, weather wise. Awful weather would match the way my legs feel. Instead we get a day ready made for riding. I'm out of sync with the world lately.

I woke up yesterday to one of the brightest spring days I can remember. The newly leafed out trees were a vibrant green; but most importantly, they were standing stock still. No wind.

This was an opportunity not to be missed. I loaded up my Timetrial bike and headed for a private session in the Andy Coggan wind tunnel for a little aero testing. I wasn't going to let my tired and sore legs get in the way of my quest for a little free speed.

I only got an hour of testing. Soon after 8am the sun started to warm things up and the wind began to stir. I packed up and headed home for a bite to eat.

I realized on the way home that my legs had come around. The aero testing had been a decent warm up. The horizontal portion of the day had been a success so I doubled down. I headed out the door again for some vertical work.

It only took an hour and ten minutes to find and conquer half a dozen decent hills. I was surprised to see that short workout accumulate just over 100TSS. Even with the low-powered gasp and wheeze session at the top of each climb IF came in at a very respectable 0.95.

So now I'm wondering about today. How long will weather this good last? Do my legs have yet another decent day in them? I guess there's only one way to find out.
