It has been an interesting weekend thus far. Here is a quick update for those following along....

I hit the trails twice yesterday in a broken epic of sorts. I went out in the early hours to beat the heat, but the ride was truncated at about the 40 minute mark. I was having a great time, but noticed that the rear tire kept feeling more and more plush. After my rim started touching down on every bump I thought I ought to pull over and bag what could have been a record pace. It seems that my thrashing about trying to cut down my lap time resulted in a gash in my Small Block 8. (looks like a sharp rock just poked through it).

So there you have it folks, the "great tire dilemma" continues.

I went home and replaced the tire with another Michelin AT, and then later went back out for an extended lap. Good times....I think I am going to like this tire combo. However, as you see from the photo, I have quite a few new shoes to try out. Over the next few weeks, I hope to try a few of these out and report back.

Well, now it is off to the State Championship Criterium. Taking the whole family to this one. Should be a fun day....who knows may be I will get in a trail ride later too?
